We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Lab Supervisor at Central Regional Hospital (CRH). The Assistant Lab assists the supervisor with staff selection, performance, evaluation, overall laboratory planning, budget, supplies, competency assessment, safety, management and maintaining the laboratory information system. Job responsibilities include the following:
In the supervisor's absence, directs the overall operation of the laboratory and supervises the Medical Laboratory Technologist I, II and Medical Laboratory Assistant II positions.
Serves as the technical resource to the other staff in quality control, equipment, and instrumentation, troubleshooting and procedure problems.
Assigns and reviews all work.
This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement. The normal working hours are Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., 7:00a.m. - 3:30 p.m., 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., or 4:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.; rotating weekends/holidays: 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. or 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.; however, flexibility is required to meet hospital needs.
Salary Grade: GN10
Recruitment Range: $39,611.00 - $63,378.00

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies
To receive credit for all of your work history and credentials, you must list the information on the application form. Qualified candidates must document on the application that they clearly possess all of the following:
Working knowledge of clinical laboratory instrumentation and equipment
Working knowledge of test procedures performed in a clinical laboratory
Working knowledge of specimen processing
Skill in the use of clinical laboratory equipment and in the performance of procedures
Working knowledge MSWord and MSExcel
ADA Physical Requirements will be discussed with the applicant during the interview process.
Management prefers Bachelor's degree in medical technology from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of medical laboratory experience preferred; or Bachelor's degree in related biological science or chemistry with related laboratory coursework from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of medical laboratory experience. An Associate degree from an appropriately accredited institution will be considered. Point of Care knowledge and/or experience preferred; Ability to perform blood collection, both venous and capillary.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory technology, chemistry or biological science from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in a medical laboratory in the assigned area;
OR
Associate's degree in medical technology from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of medical laboratory experience;
OR
Completion of a certified laboratory assistant course in medical technology
OR
A comparable course from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of medical laboratory experience;
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
