We are currently recruiting for a Health Care Technician I (HCT I) that will function as a Therapeutic Support Specialist I (TSS I) at Central Regional Hospital (CRH) on the Forensic Minimum Treatment Unit. The primary purpose of this position is to monitor patients and perform basic nursing care within the scope of a nursing aide (assistant).
Job duties include the following:
Obtaining vital signs.
Assisting patients with activities of daily living.
Maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.
Assisting with hospital/unit based programming.
Engaging patients in behavioral activities.
Following ordered patient care.
All healthcare duties are delegated by and completed under the supervision of a Licensed Nurse.
There are several positions available. Available shifts are:
Second Shift: 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Third Shift: 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
All shifts are Monday - Friday with alternating weekends and holidays as scheduled.
These are full-time positions and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement.
Salary Grade: GN04
Recruitment Range: $31,200 - $38,229

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Qualified candidates must document on the application that they clearly possess all of the following:
Qualified applicants must be proficient in written and verbal English.
Must be able to pass and maintain all hospital required training during probationary period (including NAI certification, NCVI, CPR, etc.)
Must have a valid driver's license or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment.
Nurse Aide I listing by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation. (If applicants are not NA I certified and are selected for a position, training will be offered by the hospital. However, certification must be obtained and employee must pass all facility required training as a condition of employment.)
Management prefers candidates with the following:
Good communication and documentation skills.
Use good judgment and model appropriate behaviors.
ADA Physical Requirements will be discussed during the interview but include lifting, kneeling, walking up and down stairs, ability to perform CPR, NVCI & lifting of 50 pounds.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school or General Educational Development diploma;
an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Condition for Continued Employment: As required, listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation.
Degrees must be from appropriately accredited colleges or universities.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
