Unit Nurse Director-Central Regional Hospital (AAU)

Central Regional Hospital (CRH) is a State-of-the-Art psychiatric hospital located in Butner, NC and is convenient to Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill, NC. The people we serve are at the heart of our facility. Our team is critical to the mission of the hospital. We are currently recruiting for a Unit Nurse Director on our Adult Admissions Unit (AAU). The AAU serves patient ages 18-64. They present with multiple diagnoses including medical problems and substance abuse. The admission rate varies from first admission to repeated times. Many have history of abuse and involvement in the legal system. The two most common diagnosis on AAU are (1) Major Depression and (2) Schizophrenia. The majority of these patients will be taking psychiatric medications. Not taking prescribed psychiatric medications while in the community is the most common reason adults go into psychiatric crisis and require admission intervention. The goal of AAU is stabilization of mental and physical health so they can return to living in the community and live as independently as possible.
The Unit Nurse Director (Nurse Supervisor III) is responsible to an Associate Chief/Chief Nursing Officer and manages one or more defined areas of organized nursing services unit(s). The position allocates available resources to promote efficient, effective and compassionate nursing care, provide administrative-level decisions, and keep staff informed of administrative-level activities.
The position has a 24-hour responsibility for ensuring the following activities: participation in nursing policy formulation and decision; participation in recruitment/selection/retention of personnel; supervision of Clinical Nurse Managers; oversight of staffing/ scheduling or personnel and maintaining assigned budget/ resources.
The Unit Nurse Director ensures appropriate orientation, training, validation of competencies and the evaluation of personnel performance. The role actively participates in the hiring and disciplinary process. The role participates in hospital-wde nursing committees and treatment planning on special needs patients of the assigned area.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies
Qualified applicants must exhibit, and application clearly reflect:
Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of nursing. Ability to plan, organize, direct and evaluate nursing care for assigned patient care groups(s) and associated staff.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with various types of people.
Knowledge of supervision and performance evaluation techniques.
Management prefers: Prior experience in a psychiatrist setting and BSN.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina and four years of nursing experience, including three years of experience in a Nurse Supervisor capacity.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
