MRO Supply Room Purchaser (1st Shift)

BASIC FUNCTION
The MRO Buyer procures, as efficiently and cost effectively as possible, the goods and services for maintenance repair and operations which keep the plant running efficiently. At the highest level, the MRO Buyer must be internal customer focused; striving to provide the highest quality service and support to all internal customers while providing the most optimal total cost for MRO product cost and services.
MAJOR DUTIES
+ Available to work 1st shift from 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
+ Involved in developing purchasing strategy for select MRO categories, including but not limited to considerations of spot buys vs. long-term contracting
+ Provide effective sourcing of parts and supplies for equipment maintenance, production supplies, and/or plant facilities
+ Resolve supplier issues relating to quality, delivery and pricing
+ Monitor and document vendor performance
+ Drive RCA to identify root cause of performance failures and implement improvement
+ Support management in strategic MRO cost savings projects
+ Cooperate with production, maintenance, engineering and other departments in the development of MRO material requirements, facility services, and indirect spend
+ Obtain materials from suppliers at lowest cost with considerations of safety, quality, and sustainability, reliability of source and urgency of needDavings and spend of all indirect materials and services
+ Identify alternative vendors or products that meet the specifications (In- Kind Replacement)
+ Create and maintain MRO processes within and across departments to provide a reliable storeroom of critical spare parts
+ Trace and monitor purchase orders (open orders/back orders) and invoices and effectively communicate with the engineering, maintenance, and production personnel of item availability, order lead-time and order status
+ Maintain files, records and documents related to all purchasing activities including vendor pricing and work order information for future referencing
+ Track and report KPI?s: (On-time delivery, service rate, stock out analysis, etc.)
+ Process new item setups and commodity code assignments
+ Ensures all agreements, purchases and initiatives comply with internal policies
+ Seek opportunities to develop or improve Min/Max levels, reorder points, JIT, and VMI
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
+ Minimum of 2 years MRO Purchasing experience
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ Computer literacy, advanced level of Microsoft Excel experience to include pivot table development and other features
+ An ability to balance tasks and achieve positive results with varying demands in a fast-paced environment
+ Proven problem analysis and resolution skills
+ Resourceful and highly organized while maintaining a high level of attention to detail, accuracy and quality orientation
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
